Packed with aromatic minty flavors, cardamom brings in a soothing woody warmth along with rustic rosewater to make your regular iced coffee a beverage for the royals.
Whether you are looking to beat the heat, or battling incessant yawns, this coffee recipe is probably the most delicious way out. Let’s make cardamom rose iced coffee!
⅔ cup of milk
2 tablespoons cardamom pods
½ teaspoon rosewater
In a pour-over dripper, place a paper filter and rinse it with hot water. Make sure your coffee mug is preheated.
Add 2 tablespoons of coarsely ground coffee to the filter and shake gently to even out the grounds.
To bloom the coffee, slowly pour some hot water over it. Allow it to sit for 30 seconds. Pour the remaining hot water over the coffee grounds very slowly in a circular motion. The grounds should be evenly saturated.
Let the coffee cool down. Meanwhile, prepare the cardamom milk.
Using a spoon or a mallet, crush the cardamom pods to split them open.
In a small saucepan, combine the milk and cardamom over low heat. Keep stirring at intervals for around 20 minutes.
You should be able to feel a nice fragrance at this point. Add the rosewater and stir over medium heat for another 5-10 minutes.
Strain and discard the cardamom pods from the milk, and let it cool.
Now, add your pour-over coffee to the flavored milk and stir well. Add a few ice cubes and relish!
